5 common worries about your family photoshoot

So you’ve booked or your thinking about booking a family session?
Now what, you say? The dread and anxiety starts to kick in!

Will my kids behave? What if they are tired and grouchy? What if it rains on the day? Will it be awkward?

You may have noticed I don’t really show smiling at the camera photos here much. That doesn’t mean I don’t get those images, it means what speaks to me is the joy of seeing a family interact with each other. Now kids normally love this because they get to play and be a bit silly. They get more attention during a session than they normally would, and they seem to love the time. It’s a family experience as well as a photoshoot. Getting to spend the evening at the beach or woods when they are normally in bed…it’s exciting for them! So please don’t worry about “behaviour”. I let kids be kids!

2. Will it be awkward?

I am as easy going as they come. There’s no pressure and no expectations. There’s a lot of going with the flow. Just show and be yourselves, love on your family and I’ll worry about the rest. You’ve got this.

3. And rain?

There’s no rainbows without rain right? Now I’m not saying lets go and have a session with in the middle of a storm (although that might look epic too), but with a slight chance of rain it’s worth going ahead. The rainiest of days can bring the most interesting skies

4. How much will this all cost?

I absolutely hate being sold to, I don’t know why, it instantly gets my back up. For this reason I’ll never sell you anything you didn’t come to me for. All my pricing is available upfront. Upon inquiry, I’ll send you my full prep guide and pricing brochure for you to view at your leisure, so no hidden costs at all. You pay a session fee, and nothing else until you see your images in your online gallery (in the comfort of your own home).
Then you just order what you want :)

5. What should we wear?

I have a whole blog post on this topic. I offer advice in this post, but I really don’t mind what you wear. I can tell you what does and doesn’t work well on camera, but as long as you feel comfortable THAT is the main thing!
If you are going to colour coordinate then always plan around Mums outfit :)
